On my S8 & S9, box compiling nmap 3.15BETA1, I get a different error if I use make (/usr/ccs/bin/make) -- using gmake, I can compile fine.
Thanks for the clues. I had to add some explicit rules to make the Sun version of make compile C++ files properly. It now compiles with /usr/ccs/bin/make (only tested with g++/gcc) on my Solaris 9 box. The fix will be in the next version of Nmap (due out later today).
