Hello Eric,

I got confused, you are absolutely right. Here is a thread I started a few
years ago when we bought our first units :

https://community.brocade.com/t5/Ethernet-Fabric-VDX-CNA/Passive-Twinax-cables-not-recognized-in-VDX-switches/td-p/28978

Best regards.

You need to program the passive dac to look like an active dac. Brocade
wants active.

Ping me if you want help.

No one knows of such a command and apparently the VDX line is finicky

know that work.

Tangent: Is it normal for these guys to still transmit light even when
the interface is shut?

Subject: Brocade unsupported transceiver?

Anyone know if there is a command in Brocade NOS (4.x) to force the use
of an unsupported transceiver? If so, what is it?
