IPv6 is not just IPv4 with bigger addresses. If you want to give your printers, etc. stable IPv6 addesses use ULAs.Icky. Better yet, just subscribe to an ISP that will give you a static prefix.
Some (probably all) networks need addressing even when they're not attached to a provider. while link-local is necessary it's also probably not sufficient.
