Can anyone recommend some good books on Ruby and how to program in her? ;-) Chuckf -----Original Message----- From: thief at jethro.hick.org [mailto:thief at jethro.hick.org] Sent: Tuesday, August 02, 2005 9:50 AM To: Sebastiaan Veenstra Cc: framework at metasploit.com Subject: Re: [framework] msfcli loop string Maybe its because people keep ripping the MSF code instead of contributing code back to the framework ... No, i believe the real reason is purely practical. Ruby has the flexibile and extensible OO language features that Perl cant offer. And with the low number of contributing users, the move from Perl to Ruby won't affect the development progress much. If you were in Vegas this week, you would have seen skape and spoonm demo some of the new functionality in msf3. I suggest you check out the slides on the msf website when they're posted. -thief On Tue, 2 Aug 2005, Sebastiaan Veenstra wrote:
Hi, I'm currently working on some kind of penetration framework. So far, I've implemented the program in Perl. But recently I noticed the new metasploit version will be implemented in Ruby instead of Perl. Can someone tell me why this switch of language will be taken? With kind regards, Sebastiaan
