Wouldn't it have to be a "best-effort" drink? Just whatever the bartender could get a hold of and equal portions of whatever it was? ;-)

BTW, as ancient history goes,

The official drink of OSI was the B-52 (layered of course). At an OSI meeting in Japan, the bartender kept serving them stirred. A UK delegate to the upper layers group raised one of the many rounds, looked a bit perplexed at the glass and said, "The bartender is an implementor!"

(The OSI clueless test was whether or not one implemented the upper 3 layers as distinct separate layers (clueless) or whether you were clueful enough to see that they should be done as as one state machine.)

There is also ISO Standard martini, I forget the number. It uses the radiation method: A light is shined through a bottle of vermouth onto a bottle of gin.

Dave:

Attendees at the "State of the Net" conference, held by an outfit called the "Congressional Internet Caucus," are quaffing a drink called a "Net-Neutraltini," the recipe for which is posted at

http://thehill.com/blogs/hillicon-valley/technology/78219-net-neutralitini-anyone-cocktail-makes-debut-today

It seems to me, though, that if it were really a "Net- Neutraltini," nobody -- not even its fans -- could agree on what was in it. And no one's recipe could specify a specific brand of gin, vodka, or liqueur, as does the one on the site; that would be discrimination! In fact, the Federal Cocktail Commission would dictate that anyone consuming the drink be able to request "any ingredient" of his or her choosing, subject to "reasonable nightspot management."

It's enough to drive you to drink. ;-)
