I dropped my local T-Mobile and got a better explanation of the pricing. While they do offer the standard bundled price – low price in return for a 2 year contract they also have an explicit financing option where you pay full price but they offer to finance it by cha rging you a monthly fee so you can see how much you are paying for t hat loan. I don’t know if it’s the norm but the person I spoke to (perhaps overqualified for the job) said he explains the two options to his customers pointing out how much better the transparent finan cing approach is.This is a step in the right direction. While I lament the limits on competition in telecom in general this does show a way in which the market is working.
