Subject: Fwd: Personal Internet Security - follow-up report

Dave:

There is extensive coverage in the UK media today for the report on
"Personal Internet Security" that has just been issued by the The
House of Lords Science and Technology Committee.

Although House of Lords Committees' reports typically are more easily
ignored by the Government than House of Commons committees' reports,
they are often much more authoritative, given the typically more
expert membership.

The new report is largely a follow up to an earlier report, the
merits of whose (largely ignored recommendations) were brought home
to the Government very forcefully by a whole series of recent highly
embarrassing disasters involving various UK Government computer
system.

Here, for IP if you wish, is a note about this new report that I've
just been sent by a colleague.

Cheers

Brian
