I haven't heard much discussion on WiMax and related wireless  
technologies on IP lately, just a lot about physical cables or fiber.

Anyone have any insights into how wireless (esp distributed and  
peered, not all hubs needing cables themselves - and please forgive my  
(mis)use of jargon, I barely understand the basics) innovations on the  
horizon could come along and make much of this discussion mute?

Or is the question itself mis-posed?
