Well, I also get nervous when flying into the US.  Three weeks ago, I  
flew Toronto to Vancouver to
Portland to speak at OSCON 8.  I went sans laptop, but had my  
presentation on two different
CDs and on a USB thumb drive.  I was asked what was on the CDs (which  
must have shown up on
the carry-on X-ray), but the drive went unnoticed.

Why would I take the whole laptop if I can carry a terabyte on a keyfob?
