The company will install it in similar locations globally by the end of 2004.AT&T and its partners, including Cometa (an IBM and Intel venture), will handle the deployment. The move, Dorman says, is part of a larger AT&T corporate strategy to compete in an increasingly difficult market. Customers aren't really swayed by price points anymore, Dorman says. They're moved by innovative, reliable services. The extension of Wi-Fi access into businesses virtual private networks is a crucial part of this better service philosophy.Wireless Week last fall reported of AT&T Wireless' Wi-Fi 'soft launch' at Denver International Airport and its plans to expand into other airports around the country.Dorman says the installation is part of a larger $500 million expansion of improving customer services. Reduction in bills, simplified contracting and better VPN provisioning also figure into the plan, he says.Archives at: <http://Wireless.Com/Dewayne-Net> Weblog at: <http://weblog.warpspeed.com>
