It has been a strange week over here.. The death of Diana has left England
and especially London in a strange and sad state. Everywhere there are
pictures of her and books to write condolences. I am reminded of the time
of JFKs death that plunged the US into a period of grief and introspection.

The damning of the press as one of the great causes of the death of Diana
seemed to not include the realization that it takes two sides to cause a
problem. Papers don't publish what does not sell. So I thing a lot of the
grief is the unstated guilt on the part of the public as co-responsible for
the event -- very very unstated in the press and TV.

Even in its sorrow and may be especially in its sorrow, London is a great
city.

I will be sad to leave it.
