2nd International Workshop on Advanced Teleservices and
                    High-Speed Communication Architectures

                          26.-28. September 1994
                            Heidelberg, Germany

This workshop will focus on `teleservices' as a central topic for
high-speed communication networks. Advances in multimedia technology,
high-speed systems and networks make distributed multimedia applications a
reality today. Networks in the future will p ovide end-user applications
with advanced services like multimedia mail, video-conferencing,
joint-viewing, access to multimedia databases, etc. At the first IWACA in
Munich, Germany, March 1992, it became obvious that the scope of future
telecommunicatio services will range from simple bearer services to
sophisticated multimedia services. This will give rise to enormous
business opportunities. Therefore this workshop focuses on teleservices
and the appropriate high-speed communication facilities together with the
respective standards.

Original contributions discussing the following topics are solicited:
- distributed multimedia applications
- multimedia teleservices
- real-time multimedia traffic analysis
- resource management
- multimedia communication subsystems
- high-speed network design for multimedia applications
- mobile communications for teleservices
- multimedia protocols
- intelligent network services

The workshop will present three tutorials, one on distributed multimedia
systems, one on multimedia protocols and one on ATM. Multimedia
demonstration are planned.
