Sigh. Let me try to explain this again. Lets say you have a template setup. create template ... some template config stuff ... and you you want 10 DHCP based honeypots, you just say: dhcp template on eth0 dhcp template on eth0 dhcp template on eth0 dhcp template on eth0 dhcp template on eth0 dhcp template on eth0 dhcp template on eth0 dhcp template on eth0 dhcp template on eth0 dhcp template on eth0 The ethernet MAC address stuff is so that you can get the same IP addresses from the DHCP server again when you restart Honeyd, but of course they need to be MAC addresses that are not used anywhere. So, you cannot ever use the MAC address of your NIC here. Niels.
