I think we still have open carry laws here in Nevada. You are not allowed to
conceal your handgun unless you have a permit to do so, but anyone can carry
their gun in the open.

Of course, the masters student would no longer need his own gun when 
he can 'borrow' the teacher's.
That is a legitimate problem.  My first reaction was, well no teacher 
would just leave their gun sitting around.  It would be locked up or 
kept safe somehow but then I get back to reality where people are 
careless.

Not only that, but, I have trouble thinking of any purpose that arming
faculty could serve that would also be served by faculty having guns locked
up in safes instead of their persons.
