I hope that outsiders don't get the idea that Americans are all terrorists
because of the deranged act of this one guy.

I've talked to a number of foreigners who assumed before they arrived here
that the U.S. is like the Wild West with everyone carrying guns on the
street.  They get this impressions from the news, TV shows, movies, etc. 
One taxi driver told me that his mother begged him to stay in Nigeria
because America was such a dangerous place. ;-)

Hartmann appeared before a judge Tuesday and was ordered held for
another two weeks for investigation.
