Just in case history is forgotten, the Aussie's gun ban produced more drastic results than the UKs - IIRC, the gun crime rate was doubled in the first year.
Ahh yes, another pet moron debating approach -- selective statistics. What was the running average five years after the ban compared to five years before? Why don't you quote that stat? Did the ban incidentally happen to start around the time of an entirely unrelated "pop" in inter-gang violence or a serious economic downturn? Are you so dense that you think _only_ the legal status of gun ownership could possibly affect the level of gun crime? Only a moron would expect an immediate significant reduction of gun crime to follow the instigation of a ban, as even the extremely dense among us realize that it will take quite some time for the bulk of the existing gun stock _held by those likely to willfully commit gun- related crimes_ to be located and removed from "the wrong hands".
