Re: Student NOT (no really, he was) arrested over Counter Strike map

I'm afraid your subject change was wrong. From your own, objective source:

---
“They arrested him,” Chen said of FBISD police, “and also went to the house to search.” The Lin family consented to the search, and a hammer was found in the boy’s room, which he used to fix his bed, because it wasn’t in good shape, Chen said. He indicated police seized the hammer as a potential weapon.

So yes, he was actually arrested. No, no charges were filed, but that's not the same as not being arrested. Sanctions from the school is one thing, but the /police/ thinking this was worth an arrest? That's just silly. While many things are subjective, hopefully most folks can agree that a police arrest in this case was unnecessary.

In the interests of using information from a source more objective than a
gamer site, see:

Your attention is invited to the following sentence:
"The boy, whose name was released in the police report, has not been
identified on FortBendNow because he has not been charged with any crime."

"Alternative Education Center" beats the crap out of being expelled a few
days before graduation.

They had a complaint from another parent. They couldn't ignore it.
Whether they overacted or not is subjective. It seems the process of
working through the school board and, if necessary, the courts is working,
albeit slowly and with some foot-dragging. No bureaucrat wants to be
publicly, let alone high-profile, found to have made a mistake. "Take it like a man and admit your stupidity" is an option, but a difficult one for
some.

"Stupidity cannot be cured with money or through
education or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin,
the victim can't help being stupid. But stupidity
is the only universal capital crime; the sentence
is death there is no appeal and execution is
carried out automatically and without pity."
