"I know where waldo is" "OK, I trust you, you don't have to prove it". *yawn* You obviously don't have multiple kids who have played this sort of game. "ooh.. I know where waldo is" "no, you dont snotnose" "oh yeah I do, and you don't, nyah nyah" "OK, prove it" "No, because then you'll know where it is too, and I'm better than you". Now go back and think about it in that context - which I believe is the default case anytime more than one person of a mental age to enjoy "where's waldo" books is looking at the book at the same time.. ;)
Not sure why we are talking about kids here. I understand the "Where's Waldo" part of the exercise as a tool to indicate that two people are looking for something, not as a means to determine the age of the participants. And again I will say: If this is a "friendly" competition between (adult) "friendly" competitors, then I say my method, and TBH Loe's also, holds water. In that this is the context of the original post, I feel that these are valid solutions to the problem as presented. If we agree to move beyond friendly to unfriendly, or if we decide to move away from adult, to childlike, then yes, you are right, we need to come up with a more, um, constructive solution. At least WRT the "unfriendly" environment, I have already conceded that my solution is untenable, and a working solution would require more thought. Not sure what else you want from me? I thought this was a fun little exercise with some relevance to security. It definitely gave me something to think about. <shrug> -- S.f.Stover http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x15FFC42A _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
