we lost power at jabber.tisf.net this morning, and so the
funsec () conference jabber tisf net conference room was down
for a few hours.  all is once again well.

"Diebold Source Code Disks Mailed to Maryland Democrat"

        The Baltimore Sun is reporting that a former delegate in Maryland's
        state legislature, who is also both a well-known local philanthropist
        and critic of the state's election system, received an anonymously
        mailed package appearing to contain original source code diskettes
        used by Diebold Election Systems for machines used in that state's
        election in 2004.

        There seems to be a lot of talk about the new -Y´High Assurance SSL
        Certificates¡ to be introduced by Verisign. IE7 will be the first
        browser to support this type of a certificate. From my understanding,
        High Assurance SSL Certificates have nothing to do with better
        encryption, but the process an entity must go through before being
        granted the certificate.

        E-mail security company IronPort has tapped anti-spyware specialist
        Webroot for its new Web security appliances. IronPort is using the
        Webroot RockSafe E1000 SDK in its new S-Series appliances, security
        gear designed to block threats, including spyware, at the network
        perimeter.
