-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Via Yahoo! News (AP). [snip] Hackers might have obtained the personal information of 6,000 people who worked for, applied to or attended the University of Texas at Dallas, school officials said Wednesday. The information includes names and Social Security numbers, the school said. In some cases, addresses, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers also might have been obtained. There is no indication that the information has been distributed or used, school officials said. The information suspected of being exposed belongs to staff and faculty members employed from January 1999 through August 2005, and to students and faculty members of the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. Applicants to the Jonsson school dating to 1993 also were affected. The school discovered the intrusion Sunday, officials said. The university has been contacting affected people.
