All phone companies are required to allow competitors use their infrastructure.
For voice, yes. The FCC does not require competition on most data or cable TV service. And yes, I know about this topic -- see recent article: http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,1984353,00.asp What you call a monopoly I obviously call a successful company. Microsoft, AT&T why not... All phone companies are required to allow competitors use their infrastructure. Other phone companies have sprung up and done well - there are two local phone companies in the KC area, only one has every built a system to support their services. Cable companies can provide every service a telco can. Satellite will, eventually, be a third provider realm. What you call a monopoly I obviously call a successful company. Microsoft, AT&T why not IBM, Pepsi, and Hershey's? While we're on the subject of you being a communist, how much extra cash do you have each payday? Can you start sending some of that to me as I'm often short on expendable funds and I'd like to be able to visit the bar more often. _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list. _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
