Quite right too. However, I quite like the idea of courts and the media
actually respecting such quaint concepts as innocent until proven guilty. It
would be good to see more of it.

I absolutely agree - but that is something the journalists and papers
have to work out. Its not something for the government to step in.
With virtually every profession there are ethical concerns - this is
certainly one with journalism.

As a rule, they generally do NOT state that a person is guilty in NEWS
stories (though it is often to figure out what is news and what is
opinion by just the header of the page).

For someone who doesn't read the UK press, you seem to have strong opinions
on its influence on our judiciary...

No, I'm replying to someone's statements about your press. If that's
not how your press is, take it up with them.
