I've got two webpages full of acronyms, just to help sort through the confusion.
TLA - Three Letter Acronym (e.g. FBI, NSA) FLA - Four Letter Acronym (e.g. IEEE) <http://www.utdallas.edu/ir/tcs/techsupp/acronyms.htm> <http://www.utdallas.edu/ir/tcs/techsupp/computer_acronyms.htm> If you want to add some, please email me.--On Tuesday, January 24, 2006 01:26:36 +0000 Fergie <fergdawg () netzero com> wrote:

For example, "SQL" and "URL" are pronounced as words by some people and pronounced letter-by-letter by others. In such cases, authors should use the ABBR element, possibly with a style sheet rule specifying the pronunciation for aural rendering."
