DigiVault by Lexias is a competing product to e-room. It has built-in crypto so your documents are safe, even if the ASP your vault is on is un-safe. It is very easy to use. Go to www.mydigivault.com to try a free eval. You can only setup one vault per email address. By using DigiVault, and you can exchange file types that are blocked by firewalls. You can "send" a document to someone else's vault. Their key is kept on their local drive, or floppy or RAM card for added security. e-room is cool, but DigiVault will give you the security that e-room cannot give you. The only issue is that you are storing sensitive documents (Possibly) on an ASP.. If you trust them to maintain the integrity then this should be ok. The communications is encrypted between the browser and the server. (It does however download a 9 Mb client if you want the full functionality) Regards Paul From: "Eaton, Dave" <deaton () eastman com> on 13/09/2000 22:58 GMT To: firewall-wizards () nfr net cc: (bcc: Paul Heber/SYD/QANTAS) Subject: [fw-wiz] Experiences with a product called "eroom" We are considering implementing a product called "eroom" for collaboration with external business partners. I am looking for any comments and experiences about the product. We will need to operate with both Gauntlet and Checkpoint FW-1 firewalls. Any security issues, firewall problems, or other input would be greatly appreciated.
