RE: 1Gb/s 3DES (Was RE: Firewall Throughput)

Actually even Netscreen's documentation doesn't claim 1Gb/s 3DES throughput.
Although they don't tell how they came up with even these figures they
claim:

1.2 Gbps for DES and 400 Mbps for 3DES

Anyone done any real throughput testing with the Netscreen line? And on a
side note does anyone have some best practices for benchmarking throughput
through a firewall? Encryption vs clear, various types of traffic, etc.?

The NS1000 specifications are as follows...these are the
industry standards
in FW Throughput.

Ø 1Gb/s stateful-inspection NAT firewall
Ø 1Gb/s 3DES VPN
[snip]

Buh?!

You'll forgive me for being sceptical, but that's a _lot_ of 3DES
throughput.

Can anyone back this up with independant test results, or even the packet
sizes used in testing?

Cheers,
