Security and Remote Control Programs

I am relatively new to both this list and firewall/security issues in
general.  Hopefully this posting is not out of bounds for this list, if
so please disregard (or if there is a more appropriate list for this
please let me know).

We have several users who want to have the ability to work from home
(extra hours even, go figure).

What are the firewall/security related issues associated with using
STAC's Reachout or Symantec's pcAnywhere set up on either NT Workstation
or Win 95/98?
