Our EDUCAUSE Cybersecurity program supporting partner GreyCastle
Security<https://www.educause.edu/focus-areas-and-initiatives/policy-and-security/cybersecurity-program/partner-resources#greycastle>
is hosting a webinar on Data Privacy Day, January 28th, details and registration link below

Institutions may assume that compliance with regulatory requirements such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy
Act (FERPA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) will be sufficient to meet all privacy
regulatory requirements. However, this is not the case.

The first step is understanding the complete regulatory landscape based on your institutions programs, students,
facility, operations, partners and research activities. This knowledge coupled with your institution's risk tolerance
and mission will provide the foundation for a comprehensive and sustainable privacy program.

Join Chief Privacy Officer, David Ross, as he walks you through understanding the privacy regulatory environment in
Higher Education.

In this session we will discuss:
- Key considerations for a sustainable multi-jurisdiction privacy program in higher education
- How to leverage your FERPA and HIPAA compliance efforts to meet these requirements
- Steps to show your community you value privacy and data subject rights.
