We've been long time Check Point customers (on Crossbeam then Blue Coat then Symantec hardware) for a long time. We
just replaced them with Palo Alto and have been very happy with them. They are full featured and very stable at our
scale (10 Gbps of actual internet usage every day). I'm a Check Point fan but the Palo's are outperforming what our
recent history had been with CP. If you worry about DDoS (and you should), I'm nuts about the Radware DefensePro
product. Cisco can license the feature into the Firepower. Check Point OEMs it as DDoS Protector. Of course you can
buy straight from Radware. They are not cheap but they work great. It has shed a 15 Gbps attack without us noticing.
Awesome product!

Subject: [SECURITY] NGFW Usage Information

I've finally been able to convince our leadership to pursue swapping out our IPS and ASA's for a set of next gen
firewalls. We are still in the evaluation phase and as a part of our evaluations we are asked by senior leadership to
quert other universities to get a barometer of what is being used. If you would (and you can PM me) let me know if you
have a NGFW and what it is (not needing specifics) It will help us with our decision. The 3 we looked at were Palo
Alto, Check Point, and Cisco Firepower.

Appreciate any responses in advance!

Best,

Jim
