From my point of view, it seems that the reputational damage might happen to those who are in the initial group of whatever the problem is. Was it Ohio University who was in the paper and their alumni seemed very upset. (Maybe 5 tears ago?)

We've never suffered a breach (that we know of) but I can't imagine trying to keep it under wraps in hope that our reputation would not suffer. Interested in others opinions.
