I'm putting together a mini-itx based network box to run either Untangle or Astaro. http://www.untangle.com/build-your-own-untangle-server <http://www.untangle.com/> http://www.astaro.com/landingpages/en-worldwide-homeuse <http://www.astaro.com/landingpages/en-worldwide-homeuse>These are both free for home use. They aren't as easy as setting up a filtering DNS, but are a lot more comprehensive and provide reporting, as well. Does anyone have any advice regarding doing content filtering at home? I have a 2-wire home router, and all the ISP offers is their parental controls that run individually on each computer. The problem is that we have other devices for which this won't work (i-pod, xbox, wii). One suggestion is OpenDNS, but it's not clear to me how that would work for these other devices. Does anyone have suggestions?
