Unless you're planning to sell the boxes at surplus auction, where a system
with a known-working disk drive (because DBAN just ran across every block) is
worth a lot more than a system that's got a hole where the disk drive used to
be.  And turning on the box and booting DBAN is usually faster than all the
work needed to crack the case, pull the drive, and find the implements of
destruction.

Remember, you can just walk away while it's running and check back later.
