Greetings, A recent Wired Campus article states that student smartphone use has almost doubled since last year (see: http://chronicle.com/blogPost/Student-Smartphone-Use/24876/). As student, faculty, and staff use of smartphones continues to increase, security of these (and other) mobile devices will become an increasingly important issue for campuses. Since the topic of mobile devices - and the security of mobile data - is such a hot topic right now, the EDUCAUSE & Internet2 Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC) has responded by creating a new wiki page, "Ten Steps to Secure Your Mobile Device", which includes US-CERT recommendations, as well as links to higher education resources, industry resources, and recent articles. https://wiki.internet2.edu/confluence/display/itsg2/Mobile+Device+Securi ty Please feel free to send suggestions for additional resources. And don't forget to share this link with others on your campus who might find the information useful. Thank you, Valerie _______________ Valerie M.
