Xboxes on our campus have had intermittent

consistent problem, so we have had a hard time nailing it down.

This is a spurious error message that we've seen a lot ourselves. The main
cause appears to be because the XBox seems to bring down link on the Ethernet
port whenever it's not really sending traffic. The linkdown event causes the
switch port to get moved back to our quarantine network. When link comes
back up, it takes long enough for the port to get moved out of quarantine
that the XBox's communication attempt fails.

A fix is to just add a little switch in between the wall port and the XBox.
But technically that's in violation of our network extension policies.
