Shibboleth ;-)  (Sorry, I know that's not helpful, but
it is in some way the correct answer)

We have in the past done the obvious thing when giving
vendors access to our systems for remote support, which is
a similar problem: enable the acct, call them with the
password by phone, log the hell out of their session, and
disable the account as soon as they're finished.
