Lee Anne,
I have used the MS IAS extensively and found it exceptionally easy to
use. It and Cisco's Radius are the only ones I have used though so the
others may be better still. I had a Cisco 3030 VPN authenticate users
directly against the IAS that was a member of the domain and used the
IAS box to send back a string that the VPN used to put the
authenticating user into a group. I also had Cisco Aironet Access
Points authenticating against Cisco's Radius which I then forwarded the
requests to MS IAS. I went through Cisco radius to get the Cisco LEAP
functionality which at the time was not available anywhere else.

I do not know about any of the vendors interaction with Nortel.

If you would like any more information please feel free to contact me
directly.

Subject: [SECURITY] RADIUS Products

Hello all,

Does anyone have experience using any of the following RADIUS products:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Internet Authentication Service (IAS),
Novell's BoarderManager, or Steel Belted Radius? We are researching
different RADIUS products to use with our Nortel network infrastructure
equipment, but I expect our need will grow in the near future as we
implement wireless and VPNs. Any information and experiences you have
are appreciated. Thanks,

Lee Anne Hart
