Hi John,
  At Indiana University, we're blocking zip files and a long list of
other executable content attachments.  We began blocking most of
these late last year and have had very little push back from our
users.  

  If you would like the entire list that we're currently blocking,
contact me off-list and I'll be happy to share those with you.
