If you answer yes, please specify if you do not mind. 1. Does your institution require student users to register their computers before gaining network access? Yes...Campus Manager & Remediation Center (http://www.bradford-sw.com) This product matches MAC address to AD Username to verify existence. The Remediation Center uses Nessus to scan for missing patches, etc, and forces them into a "Quarantine VLAN" with a web page listing patches they are missing, and the updates for each. Currently, Bradford is working on Integrating a scan tool to make sure virus software is installed and up-to-date. 2. Does your institution require student users to connect to a domain if Windows is used? No. 3. Does your institution require a specific version of Windows for network access and support? Windows 98SE or higher. Mac OS 8 or higher. 4. Does your institution provide student users with Anti-Virus software and updates for that software? Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 8.1...centralized updates. Free to students (IT pays cost...agreement w/Syamntec) 5. Does your institution provide student users with Operating System updates? Yes...through Campus Manager Remediation Center. 6. Does your institution use a dynamic network registration system to allow users to connect to the network? In order to connect to our network, (in dorms right now....rest of buildings this summer), a computer user has to be in Active Directory. Visitors (i.e., speakers, etc... need to check in with IT, get a guest account, and have their computer scanned before they are allowed on the network.
