Laptop locking devices are very inexpensive and are used to secure the laptop to a desktop, stand , etc. The best defense, however, is awareness. I once contracted at an organization that had so many laptops stolen (all from irresponsible use) that they drew up a policy that held the individual responsible (monetarily) for laptop theft. -------Original Message------- From: The EDUCAUSE Security Discussion Group Listserv Date: 01/23/04 10:11:03 To: SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU Subject: [SECURITY] Physical Laptop Security I'm wondering what people are doing to prevent faculty laptops from being stolen on campus. The obvious answer is, "have them lock their office when they're gone." One would think this to be common sense. Unfortunately, it seems that is not the case. Since we can't rely on faculty locking their office what are some other options for physically securing a laptop?
