If you look in the EULAs of these things you'll find that you'll have 
just as much of a warranty as you do with your average OSS equivalent 
(i.e. - none). As an example, I've recently been working on a highly 
popular, highly expensive CRM that quite frankly, is little more than a 
fancy frontend to an ODBC connection. How these people stay in business 
is absolutely shocking, but like you say, the people who buy this have 
absolutely no idea what they're letting themselves into before it's too 
late.
