Excellent analogy, only the fishermen are on a planet where the number of lakes doubles in size every 2 years, and the new lakes are magically stocked with bigger, easier to catch fish (though usually much lower in protein content, but this can grow with time if the lake has good marketing). Some fishermen are still back at good old Lake OpenSSH, which frankly produces fish with some of the highest protein content known to men, others spend their days on lake IIS or rpcss.dll, and these may someday become fished out (is this really a possibility? No, not for IIS, but could OpenSSH really ever be bug free? Lately it seems like you can write "Hello, World!" without any bugs, but little else...), but there are many more lakes, perhaps with smaller, less nutritious fish, springing up all the time. The nice thing about the guys who fish the old lakes with increasingly sophisticated nets is, most of those nets would work on any lake they took them too... Gotta love analogies ;) Phil _______________________________________________ Dailydave mailing list Dailydave () lists immunitysec com http://www.immunitysec.com/mailman/listinfo/dailydave
