http://bvlive01.iss.net/issEn/delivery/prdetail.jsp?oid=23621 Ha s anyone used Citadel's product and have any frank opinions on the matter? From a basic viewpoint, it looks like ISS Scanner + Citadel Hercules = Foundstone Scanner. If true, it seems like a weird move for both companies, since on one hand ISS is probably going to want to compete on equal terms with Foundstone, and on the other hand, so is Citadel.
I've never used Citadel's stuff. However, I was able to stick that bit of corporate fluffery into a Universal Translator. I think that this announcement really says: "ISS's Government Sales group has concluded that Citadel is better at selling inside the DoD, and/or Citadel gave ISS enough money to get them to play, and therefore ISS and Citadel are going to work together to chase DHS money flowing out of the government". In other words, it's just a bunch of those good old boys down in Atlanta, chasing the newest U.S. Government Teat as it's waved around the industry, looking for whomever wants a drink. This is not unusual behavior for corporate America, in my opinion. I think it has nothing to do with ISS' corporate strategy and is "merely" (not to belittle it) a move to get them into government markets. Wow, I typed in five paragraphs without getting fussy about ISS. I must drink more coffee. It's still early on the West coast ;-) _______________________________________________ Dailydave mailing list Dailydave () lists immunitysec com http://www.immunitysec.com/mailman/listinfo/dailydave
