Speaking from experience, sadly you can get malware on a stand alone computer with no network access at all.
Your plan will do nothing but make your job harder and given how malware spreads, through and between the cracks you have to leave open for daily business, also do nothing to slow the spread of malware, viruses and assorted unwanted nasties. Your segregation is virtually useless if it already made it past the best your edge appliances could do.
You are better off with the best edge security you can get to keep the bad stuff out, decoupling and testing everything the outside world sends to your internal network, plus scanning and monitoring tools inside to find and contain outbreaks that make it past the edge appliances.
