Hello, You could try Skype for SSL chat, or either try to setup a secure connection by Jabber with Google Talk network. Pidgin can use some addons for SSL chat (haven't used it since Gaim though), but it is limited only to users that have that addon. You should remember that using a secure chat through proxy servers in a controlled environment (work network for example), could expose your connection to corporate SSL content inspection filters, that "break" your SSL with the internet server (or client) and can listen to your chat. You should always check the SSL certs that you're using. BR, Bogdan Sent from mobile. On 20.01.2011, at 19:27, Mark <znxster () gmail com> wrote:

Preferably not som addon to msn though. I know there is a lot of those. It's incredible I can't find this. I'd be amazed if there's no IM client that is capable of encryption.Wikipedia has a pretty good list of information about the various clients/protocols and what they offer/support. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_instant_messaging_clients http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_instant_messaging_protocols Of course using public servers isn't going to be as secure as setting up your own: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_LAN_messengers At work we are using Microsoft Communicator (since rename to "Lync"). Obviously not Open Source but: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/lync/ Thanks Mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Securing Apache Web Server with thawte Digital Certificate In this guide we examine the importance of Apache-SSL and who needs an SSL certificate.
