It's called EXIF data. It's just all the minor information that the camera stores. Some store everything, other don't store any at all. You can get details about focal length, camera model, resolution, etc. Some cameras/phones can also tag GPS coordinates onto a picture. In Windows, right click on a picture and select properties. Hit the details tab.
