Hi all, Thanks for your suggestions. 1. I like the idea of the layer 1 hub. It will save us from playing with bridging connections etc. 2. As for what my friend wants to do: (1) Log all traffic incoming and outgoing from the exchange server. (2) If the messages sent by the exchange server exceeds a specified number, the message sending should be stopped until he can come and review it. Note:
From what he told me, his server was not being used as an open relay.
As for pfSense, how friendly is the interface? I have not had a chance to try it. My friend is an above average windows user. He does not have a problem with the command line either given that he used to work on computers during the DOS days but I do not know if he has had any Linux / free BSD experience.
