I find it hard to believe that a pen testing cert can replace a general
security cert. Please offer the facts not just your opinions.

If you read the finer print. GCIH is recommended before taking the GPEN.
Both are becoming highly desirable in the market, but GPEN offers much
more for your career as it's slowly replacing CISSP.

I was in the same shoes you're in and decided to take the GCIH first.
Hope that helps.

I would take the GCIH class, as you'd get more exposre to more areas
than the GPEN. That'll allow you focus indepth on individual topics
later on.

I've also consistently heard very good things about the GCIH class,
though GPEN is supposed to be really cool as well.

I do think the Pentesting class would be much more "fun", however.

Hi,
I have been looking closely at both of these classes. Although it
seems clear that the first is more a comprehensive overview while the
other might more specific, I really would like to hear what are your
thoughts about what class might be better to start with or what the
two might be better value for money/time spent.

Thanks in advance.

Andrea
