I would like to recommend Nagios. It is fantastic and best of all, free (open source). You will run into a bit of trouble with the automated reporting requirement as that is not built in out of the box but plenty of people have developed solutions for this shortcoming. I am still testing version 3 but the developers may have improved that piece in the latest major release. Hope this helps, -Seth
