I know there is Auditing feature in Windows 2003 which will show up in event logs. But unfortunately i missed to add this point that we are looking for some software which will alert us via email when some folder/ file is deleted. Both open source and commercial tools are fine. Hi. Check out OSSEC: http://www.ossec.net Combining Windows built-in auditing with some custom OSSEC rules should accomplish what you are looking to do. Otherwise here are some commerical tools: http://www.windowsecurity.com/software/Event-Log-Monitoring/ Or as Scott mentioned, roll your own custom solution with VB. Cheers! --Rob
