The issue with running EOL software and operating systems is risk management, at least that is how I explain it to people. If you are running 95/98/ME/NT/2000 pre SP4, then you are accepting the risks that go along with it which include the fact that Microsoft (more than likely) is not going to release any patches for it. Every software company has to draw the line somewhere. Application, operating system and gaming developers all do. What would Red Hat's answer be for Red Hat 9? Ask EA about new flaws in Madden 04. Everyone does it, why should MS be any different? No one has infinite resources. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- EARN A MASTER OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION ASSURANCE - ONLINE The Norwich University program offers unparalleled Infosec management education and the case study affords you unmatched consulting experience.
