This one comment:
I think we're closer to the day when all apps will update themselves.
Makes me think Grid computing... Globus network, world grid. If we are all installed on a grid and have the software 'owned' by the grid we can have disk less workstations just login to the grid and you are good to go no worries! But then again who owns your data and who has access to all your information? Unless the grid is designed with FLAWLESS security potentially anybody on the grid would have access to your data then. There is good and bad in auto updates. I would rather be prompted to the fact that updates are available and asked if I want to update them. -- Leif Ericksen On Tue, 2006-01-03 at 13:12 -0500, Sadler, Connie wrote:

We should be knowledgeable about what our options are, but if a computer can do something to save me time, I say "go for it!" Connie J. An update, is a minor patch EX: v1.0.2 -> v1.0.3 you are talking wholey new version as opposed to minor build updates. I also prefer not having the browser take away my ability to see what is bieng installed. If you would rather not see the updates, then use IE. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --- EARN A MASTER OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION ASSURANCE - ONLINE The Norwich University program offers unparalleled Infosec management education and the case study affords you unmatched consulting experience.
